Future Rehabilitation Centre · Since 2000
From a modest villa on Karama Street to a purpose-built home in Mohammed Bin Zayed City — a story of steady growth, built on individualised care and unwavering belief.
Building No. 142, Plot 16, Zone 9
Behind Civil Defense, Near Burjeel Hospital
Abu Dhabi, UAE
Future Rehabilitation Centre, formerly known as Future Centre for Special Needs, was set up in September 2000 with sixty students. Today the Centre cares for an average of two hundred multinational young students, with disabilities ranging from mild, to mild-to-moderate, to moderate-to-severe. For children with Autism, we work with mild-to-moderate severity.
We provide special education and therapy-based programmes designed around the unique needs of every student, through Individualised Education Plans.
From a modest beginning in a rented villa on Karama Street, the Centre moved three times to accommodate its growing student body — until November 2011, when it moved into its purpose-built facility, completed through the benevolence of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council.
It remains our hope to continue this commitment — to care, to teach meaningfully, and to hold our quality of practice to a standard on par with the best in the world.
To provide holistic care and equip People of Determination with the knowledge and skills they need, in a safe, secure, stimulating environment — enabling each student to reach their full potential and lead a fulfilling life.
We envision our establishment as a premier institution whose standard of practice is on par with the best national and international benchmarks in special education and rehabilitation.
Diversity, Respect, Integrity, Empowerment, Collaboration, Trust and Safety are not values we display — they shape every plan we write and every session we run.
We discover, develop and harness every student’s strength to enable them to lead more fulfilling lives.
We welcome and honour the diverse cultures of everyone involved with Future Rehabilitation Centre.
We relentlessly persevere in the development of our students and their own personal growth, working as a team.
We keep opening the Centre to new traditions and opportunities, because we are always looking to grow.
We regard each of our students as persons first and foremost — always.
Honorary President
This website reflects the positive growth we are experiencing at the Future Rehabilitation Centre. With thanks to our highly involved community and the firm commitment of the Board, staff and family members, we have made an exceptionally positive impact on our student body. Our staff and student body has more than doubled since our beginnings in September 2000.
Our purpose remains unchanged: to provide relevant education, programmes and rehabilitation services that improve the lives of our students of determination — and to extend that improved quality of life to their families and supporters.
I invite you to explore this website and learn of our highly integrated programmes and activities. Thank you.
Chairman
The Future Rehabilitation Centre is near to celebrating twenty years of fortifying the power of our students’ dreams. Our commitment has never dwindled, thanks to the benevolence of many advocates and a loyal multi-disciplinary Board of Trustees whose voluntary service has invigorated our plans for further development.
The real heroes of the Centre are the dedicated special educators, therapists and administrative team. Many students who once struggled with attention have moved on equipped with academic, social and creative skills; others now work meaningfully, or continue to strengthen their independence every day.
Director
Under the patronage of our President, our ultimate goal is to take part in the fulfilment of the UAE’s broader vision for the rights and inclusion of People of Determination. Our team is committed to empowering our students’ abilities through well-tested methods and holistic care.
Students with communication disorders are now adept with assistive technology; the number who can walk for the first time keeps growing; more than one hundred have joined mainstream schools, and fifteen are meaningfully employed. Our motto sums it up best: “They Aspire, We Inspire.”
